Juvy & Loco then met at Bash at the Beach for the gold, with the MIA and the Filthy Animals both banned from ringside. Loco, but then got into a brawl with the MIA, while Disco was beaten by the champion. At the Great American Bash, Guerrera tried to aid his ally, Disco, in defeating Lt. The two forces battled for a few months, with Guerrera eventually locking his attention onto Lt. Loco (Chavo Guerrero Jr), Major Stash (Van Hammer), and Corporal Cajun (Lash LaRoux). Their unit joined up with the New Blood, and began a small war with the Misfits in Action, a face group consisting of General Rection (Hugh Morrus), Lt. Guerrera continued to ally himself with the Filthy Animals, who added Disco Inferno to their group. Chris Candido won the battle by pinning the Artist, denying Guerrera from once again becoming the Cruiserweight Champion. Guerrera was one of the cruiserweights involved in a "Four Corners" match at Spring Stampede '00, when the CW belt, along with all the other titles, was vacated. In time, Guerrera's arm healed up, and he began wrestling again, siding with Konnan, Billy Kidman, and Rey Mysterio as the Filthy Animals. Guerrera proved to be the comic relief for some of WCW's cards, as he yelled to the fans "Finally, the Juice has returned to Atlanta", even though the card would be in San Antonio or Seattle. Guerrera was on the sidelines for a while with his bad arm, but he still appeared frequently at shows, sometimes coming down to the broadcast position to be another announcer. However, during the match, Guerrera badly injured his arm on a Suicide Dive to the outside, and was forced to vacate the title to his friend Psychosis, who lost it back to Liger. Guerrera managed to defeat Liger to become the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion. Guerrera also had a very short fued with Jushin "Thunder" Liger, who came to WCW for a brief time in the final months of '99. He called himself "The Juice", and even performed the People's Elbow occassionally. Juventud then began developing a 'new' gimmick, as he started acting like the Rock. Guerrera also had some battles for the cruiserweight title against Rey Mysterio, Jr, but did not manage to get the belt back around his waist. ![]() He temporarily became the 'translator' for the Disco Inferno, when he wore a mask and pretended to be a Mexican cruiserweight while feuding with Konnan. Juventud soon reappeared, staying the "heel" cruiserweight in WCW. This left Guerrera once again as a singles competitor. All, except for Mysterio, gave up their shirts. He then disbanded the group, offering to pay them what Eric Bischoff had not. At the beginning of '99, Ric Flair came out and asked all LWO members to come down. Guerrera had a few high-flying matches against Rey Mysterio, Jr, but was unable to reclaim the Cruiserweight Title for the LWO. Juvy then apparently joined the LWO (Latino World Order), only to lose the belt back to Kidman a week later. He managed to hold the belt for over a month before losing the belt to Billy Kidman.Ī few months later, Air Juvy managed to regain the Cruiserweight Title from Kidman. At Road Wild '98, Guerrera won the Cruiserweight belt from Chris Jericho, thanks to help from guest referree Dean Malenko. After being unmasked, Juvy adopted the attitude of "Never Surrender" and had massive feuds with Jericho, Reese, and the Flock. Soon after, Juvy lost his sacred Luchador mask to Chris Jericho after losing a Mask/Title Match. He soon lost the belt to his old nemesis Rey Mysterio, Jr. In January 1998, Juvy gained his first gold in WCW by beating the Ultimo Dragon for the WCW World Cruiserweight Title. In 1996, Juventud, along with many other Luchadors, came to WCW to truly showcase his high-flying ways. After a 3-month reign, Mysterio regained his belt, and Guerrero went back to tag-teaming with his father. Juvy also regained the WWA Lightweight title for a while, and later gained the WWA World Welterweight Title in April '96 from Mysterio, Jr. Throughout the next 3 years, Juventud and his pop Fuenza would rule the Mexican tag-team title scene, with 5 tag-team title reigns in two divisions. This was only the beginning of their titanic feud. Mysterio, Jr, later came back to retake the title. He first earned gold by pinning Rey Mysterio, Jr, to become WWA World Lightweight Champion.
